After a little inspiration from GBBO and a small talk over lunch, my colleagues and I at ITC organised ourselves our own little charity event to raise money for British Heart Foundation. With 14 bakers, many tasters and an ounce of competition (that some may say was fixed), we managed to raise £226.42 over 3 days for the amazing cause.

We ended the Summer as stars of the show with an awesome day out at the Crystal Maze experience in Manchester. After a fun-filled afternoon of puzzles and challenges, we put our glad rags on and descended upon Lock 91 at Deansgate Locks where we enjoyed great food and drink throughout the night.

We participated in the ReachOut Cup and for the second year running, we were beaten finalists. Despite our resident keeper letting us down at the last minute (Stuart, you will NEVER be forgiven!) we breezed through the opening group stage and knock out rounds and once again, made it to the final.

We had an awesome day supporting the local Charity, the Together Trust. We finished in 3rd place (from, ahem, 4 teams) but that old adage is definitely relevant….it was all about the taking part…and getting wet….very, very wet!
